What we would call nowadays a Docudrama. Made by a group of politically active young Glaswegians the Dawn Cine Group. A rare example of film made from the insiders point of view. Centres around the campaign against the sale of some new housing by Glasgow Corporation. Notable are the political demands for integrated development involving the people and including community facilities.

Additional Information: Film about housing conditions in Glasgow using footage shot in 1952 during the proposed sale of Council houses in Merrylee.
Dramatised sequences and bulk of film taken 1956. Members of the Cine Group took parts in the film. Bill MacGregor and brother, Hugh Dalton. Una Bukelis, wife of Charlie, plays mother of dead child who puts flowers on grave.
